Established in 1996, Evercore Partners is a leading investment banking boutique and investment management firm.
Evercore Partners was cofounded by Chairman Roger Altman. Roger began his investment career at Lehman Brothers before serving as Assistant Secretary of the U.S. Department of the Treasury for four years. He then returned to Lehman Brothers, later becoming cohead of investment banking, as well as a member of the firm's Management Committee and Board. In 1987, Roger joined the Blackstone Group as Vice Chairman, head of the firm's merger and acquisition advisory business and a member of its Investment Committee. In 1993, Roger returned to Washington to serve as Deputy Secretary of the U.S. Department of the Treasury for two years, before forming Evercore Partners in 1996.
Ralph Schlosstein joined Evercore as its President and Chief Executive Officer in 2009. Previously, Ralph cofounded BlackRock, Inc., where he served as President for almost twenty years. While at BlackRock, he was also a director, chaired the Management Committee, and served on its Executive Committee and its Investment Committee. Prior to founding BlackRock, Ralph worked at Lehman Brothers and held positions in U.S. government.
In addition to Roger and Ralph, Evercore Partners currently has forty-seven senior managing directors in the U.S., Europe, and Mexico averaging more than 20 years of experience each. The senior managing directors provide classical advice with a long-term perspective and focus on large, multinational corporations. Evercore Partners' corporate advisory business counsels its clients on mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, restructurings, financings, and other strategic transactions. In these instances, Evercore acts exclusively as an advisor to its clients. Accordingly, it does not have the resulting conflicts of interest that prohibit or impair providing advice to its clients.
In addition to Evercore Wealth Management, Evercore Partners also has investment management businesses that comprise both private-equity investing and public-equity investing for large institutions and a European wealth-management firm.
Evercore Partners serves a diverse set of clients around the world from its offices in New York, San Francisco, London, Mexico City and Monterrey, Mexico, and is publicly traded.
