Investors will shift their focus back to U.S. earnings and economic data as moves by Germany and other European Union countries to support the euro start to alleviate concern about euro-zone debt, Evercore Wealth Management equity portfolio manager Judy Moses told Dow Jones.

"Eventually you will see some sort of deal. Ultimately they're going to want the euro zone to succeed, and so they'll support the member countries," said Moses.

As more investors have come to that conclusion after digesting the euro-zone news, "the market is a bit taking its focus off of the downgrades, looking again toward corporate earnings and how they've been coming in," she added.
